Action-packed ‘Capital of the Alps‘ Innsbruck has secured its unique place on the international mountain bike competition circuit until 2022.

Organisers of the Crankworx World Tour have confirmed the city as the only European stop for the elite gravity mountain bike festival in June 2020, 2021 and 2022.

It joins Rotorua, New Zealand and Whistler, Canada in welcoming the world’s top adrenaline junkie mountain bike professionals competing in the disciplines of Whip-Off, Pumptrack, Dual Speed and Style, Dual Slalom, Slopestyle and Downhill.

Peter Unsinn, Head of Market Management at Innsbruck Tourism, said: “Innsbruck is delighted to secure its place as the only European stop on the international Crankworx tour.

“This is the third year we have hosted Crankworx at our spectacular Bikepark Innsbruck venue – playing host to more than 600 competitors from 26 countries, along with 22,000 visitors – and we anticipate the event will grow even further over the next three years.“

“The honour is testament to Innsbruck’s amazing reputation as a top European biking city with nine world-class trails, a kids‘ and beginners‘ park, pump track, dual slalom track and Dirtpark, with further trails set to be created.“
